2011
Travel - Started 2011 in Florida, but by May had been transplanted to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Not such accessible diving or photography.
Diving - Scrubbed the New Years day dive due to
weather and went to take some photos on Sanibel instead. Did a few dives
in Florida, although weather was not too cooperative in the start of the year.
Made up for it with a great week in Bonaire in July (this was booked at the last
minute as the T&C Aggressor ran aground and had to find an alternate with only 5
days to go) and then an awesome "sharky" week in the Turks and Caicos in
September on the Aggressor. With the new location, I'm probably going to
be a vacation diver for a while !
Photography - Started off the 2011 with
some Sanibel visits for wildlife photography. On the studio photography side of
things, continued some model shoots in the studio in Naples but also had a fun
time at the American Photo Magazine photo shoot in Ft Lauderdale, and an outdoor
shoot for the Cabbage Swamp Pageant contestants in LaBelle. Still have to
make the effort to do some studio work in Cincinnati, however, did have some fun
taking photos of outdoor bands at the Taste of Cincinnati, and July 4th
Fireworks. A trip to the Smoky Mountains National Park for the fall
(autumn) colors was also great fun (although I did more hiking than photography)
- but the highlight was a bear climbing a tree and eating berries very close by.
Tentative Plans
Diving - Busy planning where I want to go for
some trips....BVI's, Turks, Bonaire, Hawaii ? Almost definitely will be a week
in Bonaire and at least 1 live-aboard dive trip. Maybe also a Florida
trip.
Photography - Apart from seeing what
photography options there are in and around Cincinnati, I will definitely make a
road trip to the Smoky Mountains again in 2012. Also thinking of another
National Park - Yosemite or Zion maybe.
